Mom to give birth twice in just 14 weeks, TikTok stunned: ‘Omg this is a thing!????’

This supermom is giving birth twice to her first-born.

First-time mom Jacqueline Schumer will have to give birth twice to her newborn in a span of just 14 weeks, she announced in a TikTok clip. The video has racked up more than 3.4 million views.

“When you find out you have to birth your 23 week GA baby so she can get spinal surgery, then put her back in your body to grow her for another 14 weeks until she’s born again,” Schumer captioned a TikTok of herself with her pregnant belly.

Spina bifida is a birth defect that occurs when the baby is in the womb and the spine and spinal cord does not develop or close as it should. The defect can cause damage to the baby’s nervous system in the most severe instances and lead to potential paralysis.

Commenters were quick to question how exactly the process would work and if Schumer and baby would be safe in the process.

“Omg this is a thing!????” one inquisitive commentator wrote.

“What do they do with the amniotic sac and fluid afterwards??? Curious,” another user asked about the fluid-filled sac that contains and protects a baby while it’s in the womb.

Schumer replied in a second video that she was on bedrest and currently 30 weeks pregnant following fetal surgery she had at 23 weeks.

“They operated on my baby and then packed her back up in me and I’m continuing to grow her, to hopefully, full-term,” she says in the video, detailing that a lot of amniotic fluid spilled out in the process and was replaced with a type of IV fluid that has more minerals until her baby could produce its own again.

Schumer announced that she visits doctors every week for an ultrasound until she’s ready for a C-section.

“It’s amazing what they can do,” she said, commending her medical team in the video.

Still, despite all of the trauma, Schumer has a positive outlook when it comes to finally getting to hold her bundle of joy.

“I’d do anything for her,” she captioned the first video.
