The Braves clinched the NL East on Tuesday with a 2-1 win over the Marlins at loanDepot Park in Miami.
It marks Atlanta’s fifth straight division crown, and a stunning fall for the Mets, who led their rivals by as much as 10.5 games in June.
The Braves wrestled control of the division away from the Mets this past weekend with a three-game sweep of the Mets in Altanta in which they beat top of the Mets rotation in Jacob deGrom, Max Scherzer and Chris Bassitt.
The Amazins, who swept a doubleheader against the Nationals, will face the Padres in the No. 4-No. 5 wild-card matchup. The series begins Friday.
