KJ Hamler can’t hide his Russell Wilson disgust after Broncos’ final play disaster
Broncos wide receiver KJ Hamler was furious with Russell Wilson after Thursday’s 12-9 overtime loss to the Colts.
An angry Hamler was seen slamming his helmet on the ground after the final play, in which Wilson completely missed him with the game on the line.
Hamler was wide open on a slant route, but instead, Wilson targeted wideout Courtland Sutton on a pass that fell incomplete.
“I could have walked in,” Hamler said after the game.
Hamler told NFL Network’s James Palmer that he wasn’t the only Broncos receiver that was open on the play, and that he has no answer for why Denver continues to miss opportunities in the red zone.
Hamler also said that he didn’t even hear the post game speech from coach Nathaniel Hackett because he was still standing on the field “trying to process everything.”
It was another sloppy night for Wilson, who also threw two interceptions, and a Broncos offense that went 0-for-4 in the red zone.
“I’ve got to do better, I’ve got to play better,” Wilson said after the game.
Despite the ugly loss, the quarterback ended his press conference with his infamous tag line, “Broncos Country, let’s ride.”
