An off-duty city Correction officer was grazed by a stray bullet while driving along the Cross Island Parkway in Queens, authorities said.
The 40-year-old officer was heading southbound on the parkway at the Long Island Expressway in a private vehicle, shortly after 11 a.m. Saturday, when he was hit, an NYPD spokesman said.
The off-duty officer declined medical attention, the department spokesman said.
“It looks like a stray bullet. It’s still under investigation,” an NYPD spokesman said.
A spokesman for the Correction Officers’ Benevolent Association declined immediate comment on the “ongoing investigation.”
