Two men shot, one fatally, after fight breaks out at NYC nightclub
Two men were shot, one fatally, after a fight broke out in a Queens nightclub early Monday, police said.
The bullets flew just after 1 a.m. near 127th Street and Atlantic Avenue in South Richmond Hill, cops said.
The fight started inside Blend Lounge and spilled outside to the street, cops said.
“They’re breaking down the sets There’s apparently some dispute at the club, shots are fired.”
The 32-year-old brother of the DJ was killed when he was shot in both arms, while a 27-year-old victim was struck in the abdomen but survived, police said.
Police are canvassing for video and talking to witnesses about what happened.
“There were plenty of people in the place,” NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig said. “We’re taking statements from them. It’s still a very active investigation, but it seems to be some sort of dispute at that club.”
He said the man who survived the shooting wasn’t cooperative.
“He didn’t tell us he was shot for at least two hours when we were talking to him,” Essig said.
“He’s sitting in his car talking to us. He’s shot. Doesn’t tell us. Then he finally admits that he’s shot, too.”
