Even reptiles want to have some fun in the sun.
A 10-foot alligator terrified Florida beachgoers last week when it emerged from the salty depths and started crawling ashore.
Kyle Hussey told FOX35 News he was enjoying a day at Melbourne Beach in Brevard County when the fearsome critter started creeping up to the sand.
He shared an image of the gator to the private Brevard County Surf Fishing Report Facebook page alongside the caption “Watch your toes,” and quickly garnered thousands of shares.
“[It was] definitely something you don’t see every day,” Hussey told FOX35.
The alligator continued to lounge on the beach until a Florida Fish and Wildlife officer arrived, at which point it retreated into the waves.
While alligators are common pests in Florida, they are mostly freshwater animals found in rivers, swamps, and ponds. The Post previously reported Sarasota resident Eric Merda lost his arm to a gator attack while swimming at Lake Manatee Fish Camp.
“Not the smartest decision a Florida boy could make,” Merda admitted.
