Man fatally stabbed, ex-girlfriend hurt during fight in NYC basement: cops
A man was stabbed to death and his ex-girlfriend hurt during a fight inside the basement of a Bronx building, police said Thursday.
Anthony Carty, 46, was mortally wounded when Gregory St. Surin, also 46, allegedly knifed him in the torso during a heated clash on Third Avenue near East 147th Street in Mott Haven, just before 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, cops said.
Carty was rushed to Lincoln Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
A 49-year-old woman – identified by cops as the victim’s ex-girlfriend — was choked by St. Surin during the melee, cops said.
She was left with marks on her neck, and her clothes were also slashed by the suspect, authorities said.
St. Surin was busted at the scene and a weapon was recovered, cops said.
He was charged with murder, attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
His relationship to the victims was not immediately clear.
