Former WWE wrester Westin Blake took to Instagram on Friday to share a love letter to his late wife, Sara Lee, whose death was announced earlier this month.
Lee — who won Season 6 of WWE’s “Tough Enough” reality series — died at the age of 30, her mother, Terri Lee, announced in a Facebook post. No cause of death was given.
In a post addressed to his late wife, Blake, whose real name is Cory Weston, spoke of happier times with Lee and their three children — a daughter and two sons. The couple welcomed their third child, a son, in July 2021.
“Dear Sara, I loved you from the first moment I saw you,” Blake wrote in the caption of his post, including a kissing photo of the couple. “I would always say that you were an angel walking on this earth. Beautiful, compassionate, strong and so loving. An angel that blessed me with 3 of the most beautiful children I could imagine.
“But you were soo much more than just mom. You were a motivator, a best friend, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, the back bone of our family, and (my favorite), my wife. I really don’t know what to say in these uncertain times.
“I just know that death can’t take away the memories we made. I can’t promise that I will stop grieving but I know now, that you’re free. I can’t thank you enough for giving me the best years of my life so far. ❤️ I LOVE YOU SARA❤️.”
Blake’s post marked his first public statement since Lee’s death was announced earlier this month. Blake, who married Lee in 2017, currently works on the independent circuit under his ring name.
There is still no official cause of death for Lee. Two days prior to her mother announcing her death, Lee shared that she was recovering from a sinus infection in a post on Instagram.
Earlier this month, Lee’s family thanked those for their support in a statement shared by fellow wrestler Bull James.
“On behalf of the Weston and Lee family we would like to express our deepest gratitude for the love that has been shown towards [Lee’s husband] Cory [James Weston], Sara and their beautiful children,” the statement read.
“Cory has taken a step back from social media but is blown away by the generosity everyone has shown. Through the darkest times you guys have been a ray of light. Thank you, will never be enough.”
James also organized a GoFundMe for Lee’s family, which was shared by a number of WWE stars.
Lee — who was released by the WWE in Sept. 2016, after her one-year contract expired — went on to wrestle on the independent circuit.
