Kate Upton is “so proud” of her husband, Astros pitcher Justin Verlander.
On Thursday, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit alum posted a tribute video to the 39-year-old ace, who is starting Game 1 of the 2022 World Series against the Phillies on Friday night.
“I am so proud of you @justinverlander… ASTROS ARE GOING TO THE WORLD SERIES!!!” Upton gushed on Instagram.
In the video, Upton is seen embracing the two-time Cy Young Award winner following the Astros’ Game 4 win over the Yankees on Sunday in the ALCS. The couple is also seen sharing a kiss at Yankee Stadium.
One day before Houston swept New York, the 30-year-old Upton was spotted in The Bronx for Game 3 of the series.
It’s been a memorable year for Verlander, who returned to the mound in April after missing the 2021 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery. He received his ninth All-Star nod in July and was recently named a finalist for the AL Comeback Player of the Year award.
Next month, Verlander and Upton will mark another milestone together: their fifth wedding anniversary. The couple tied the knot in Italy in 2017, the same year the Astros won the World Series.
Verlander and Upton returned to the site of their nuptials last December and brought their 3-year-old daughter Genevieve along for the trip.
“So much has changed these last 4 years! It was so amazing to visit the exact spot we said ‘I do’ with Vivi,” Upton wrote on Instagram at the time.
