An 80-year-old man was clocked, a guy randomly stabbed and a 15-year-old girl pummeled in the city subway system this week — making them among just the latest victims of rising transit crime.
News of the troubling assaults came as details also surfaced in Thursday’s underground assault of a 78-year-old man — who was attacked simply for asking a noisy straphanger to turn his music down, police said Friday.
The random stabbing victim, 54, had been standing on the southbound platform of Harlem’s 125th Street A/B/C/D station around 4:25 a.m. Friday when he rebuffed a stranger who apparently tried to talk to him, authorities said.
The Manhattan assailant, believed to be in his 20s, then suddenly stabbed the straphanger in the lower back, cops said.
The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside in stable condition, police said.
The attacker fled and did not leave his weapon behind, authorities said.
The attack came just hours after a 20-year-old woman was slashed on an A train in upper Manhattan, sources said Friday. The victim was arguing with two other women about 12:30 a.m. when a man accompanying the pair slashed her, then fled out of the subway, according to sources. The victim called 911 after leaving the subway system, sources added.
Both incidents occurred less than a day after a 15-year-old girl was beaten and robbed inside the Woodhaven Boulevard R train station in Elmhurst, Queens, cops said Friday.
The teen was walking on the mezzanine around 3:10 p.m. Thursday when five women pushed her to the ground and began punching and kicking her in the head and body, police said.
The muggers snatched the woman’s wallet – holding a debit card and identification documents – before fleeing out of the station, authorities said.
Video released by the NYPD shows the five women passing through the subway turnstiles, cops said.
The victim was taken to Long Island Jewish Forest Hills in stable condition, cops said.
Later Thursday, someone used the teen’s debit card to make two unauthorized purchases – the first for about $7.20 and the second for around $200, authorities said.
In a separate robbery on a southbound D Train at the 155th Street station in Upper Manhattan on Thursday night, a 35-year-old man was kicked to the ground and robbed by an assailant who flashed a gun and snatched $1,000 cash, a cellphone, wallet and gold bracelet, sources said Friday.
Two elderly people were also attacked in separate incidents Thursday.
An 80-year-old man was punched in the back by an unknown person while he stood on the A-C-E platform at the 34th Street-Eighth Avenue station about 4:25 a.m., according to sources Friday.
In addition, cops revealed Friday that the 78-year-old man assaulted on a southbound No. 1 train near the 96th Street station in Manhattan around 3:30 p.m. was attacked when he asked another straphanger to lower the volume of music he was playing on a speaker.
That attacker punched the senior in the head multiple times, knocking him to the ground of the moving train before a woman joined in and kicked the 78-year-old victim in the head, cops and sources said.
He took pictures of his attackers before they fled, according to sources.
The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside in stable condition and received stitches on his forehead, authorities and sources said.
The suspects stayed on the train and got off at 34th Street, police said.
Cops released photos of the duo early Friday.
The man is described as about 6 feet tall and 185 pounds with an athletic build and goatee, authorities said.
He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a graphic on the front, a red bandana, gray jeans, a multi-colored backpack and white Nike sneakers.
The woman is described as having a medium build and long brown hair with brown eyes.
She was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket with a fur lining, a black t-shirt, orange sweatpants, black sneakers and wearing black glasses.
No arrests have been made in any of the incidents.
