They’ve got beauty and brains
There’s a reason so many students work at Hooters — and it’s not just for tips and TikTok fame, according to one medical-school student who used to moonlight at the chain restaurant, known for their busty servers.
Kirsten Songer, who posts as @theflathootersgirl on TikTok, shared a video explaining that the restaurant offers a reimbursement program to incentivize students to maintain good grades while serving wings.
“So, if you’re in any sort of school, they offer up to $1,000 a semester just reimbursement to be used on books, tuition, really just about anything,” Songer says.
In the clip, she then shows a chart laying out the point-based system that calculates how much students can receive based on the amount of hours they work and the grades they receive.
“Hooters is trying to show that they care about education, and that’s like up to 1,000 free dollars, just for going to school,” she states.
The video was posted back in February, but has since gone viral after the 2023 Hooters calendar was revealed ahead of the chain’s 40th anniversary.
Songer has gained thousands of followers by posting TikTok videos with “fun facts” about her time at the Hooters near her alma mater, the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, until she was fired this year.
The blond bombshell first went viral when she admitted to being “flat-chested” in a video revealing how she fakes huge cleavage.
Several Hooters girls before Songer have shared with social media how their tips help them pay for higher education, including college, nursing school and law school.
