Boxing sensation Shakur Stevenson was standing alongside Takeoff right before the rapper was shot and killed early Tuesday morning in Houston.
In photos and video obtained by TMZ, Stevenson, in a blue hat, can be seen standing alongside Takeoff just moments before gunfire broke out outside 810 Billiards & Bowling around 2:30 a.m, killing the 28-year-old rapper.
The video footage shows Stevenson standing near Takeoff and Takeoff’s uncle, fellow Migos rapper, Quavo, when an argument ensued prior to shots being fired.
Stevenson, who was not physically injured in the incident, took to Instagram to write, “R.I.P Takeoff 🙏.”
Takeoff, whose real name was Kirshnik Khari Ball, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The rising boxing star was at the bowling alley reportedly celebrating Jas Prince’s birthday.
On Monday, Stevenson shared photos and videos partying with the music executive.
Houston PD has asked witnesses to come forward to recount their side of the story. It’s unclear if police have been in contact with Stevenson or his camp.
Stevenson has been friends with the Migos rappers for some time. The boxer was accompanied by a live performance from Quavo before his tenth-round stoppage win against Jamel Herring in Oct. 23, 2021 in Atlanta to win his first world title at 130 pounds.
Stevenson (19-0, 9 KOs) defeated Robson Conceicao by a 12-round unanimous decision last month at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
