‘Tis the season for sipping sugary drinks!
Starbucks‘ famed holiday javas, as well as Coffee mate’s festively flavored creamers, are back in stock — and just in time for the emerging winter season.
Fans of the Seattle-based coffee chain are dusting off their red reusable holiday cups to sip on their favorite winter-flavored lattes.
Beginning Nov. 3, Starbucks will be sleighing it with returning favorites, new food items as well as fresh cup designs.
The beverages coming to town are the caramel brulée latte, the chestnut praline latte, the toasted white chocolate mocha and the Irish cream cold brew. The iced sugar-cookie almond milk latte is also returning after last year’s debut.
The menu will also have a new bakery item: the chocolate pistachio swirl.
The pastry is baked with “buttery, brioche-inspired dough” and has a rich chocolate filling laced with cinnamon. Mint chocolate chips and chopped pistachios are sprinkled on top of the sweet treat.
Starbucks will debut four new cup styles that will offer the “comforts and cheer of the season,” a press release said. The paper containers are intended to look like wrapped presents.
“We have always talked about the cups as little gifts, and we hope they feel like a festive present to our customers and store partners,” Gary Jacobson, Starbucks’ creative director, said in a statement.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of Starbucks’ holiday cups, which were first introduced in 1997.
The 2022 iterations will include a red-and-green cup decorated with ribbons as well as a mint-green version decked with sparkles and diamonds.
The third design is white and imprinted with trees and stars, and the fourth one is red and stamped with a white tree design.
“Looking back at all the years of holiday cups, you can see the commitment to design and artistry and all things handcrafted,” Jacobson said.
He added: “I think that’s why they have become part of a lot of people’s holiday traditions. They invite people in because each new design captures a moment in time with its own unique take on the holidays.”
Coffee mate is giving Starbucks a run for its money: Coffee addicts who want to enjoy holiday cheer from home can find four fan favorites on shelves for a limited time as well as two brand-new creamers.
The four comeback flavors are Coffee mate Toll House Cookies ‘n Cocoa Creamer, Natural Bliss Pumpkin Spice Flavored Creamer, Coffee mate Pumpkin Spice Creamer and natural bliss Cinnamon Swirl Latte Flavored Creamer.
The two new flavors include the Coffee mate Toll House Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Flavored Creamer and the Peppermint Mocha Oat Milk Coffee Creamer
