Tom Brady almost forgot his family after Buccaneers got ‘ass kicked’ by 49ers

Tom Brady was so locked in that he forgot his family at the game.

On a special edition of his “Let’s Go!” podcast on SiriusXM, Brady and Jim Gray were joined by legendary comedians Adam Sandler, Tracy Morgan and Bill Burr.

On the episode, Brady revealed that as he was walking to the bus after the Buccaneers were blown out by the 49ers in Santa Clara, he was reminded that he did not check in with his family, who were at the game because he grew up in the Bay Area.

“We got our ass kicked, and I was walking from the locker room to the bus — a kind of long walk of 500 yards or so — and just as I got to the bus the woman who I was with said, ‘Hey, didn’t you want to see your family?'” Brady said.

“They stayed?” a stunned Brady asked her.

“So I turned around and walked back,” he continued. “And at least after the game I got to see my sisters, nieces and some cousins. My parents left in the third quarter, thankfully, to get home.”

Brady already acknowledged he was more than okay with Niners fans leaving early.

“I’m sure they left, is what they did,” Brady told Mike Silver of the San Francisco Chronicle. “I don’t want them out there in this s—t. It was horrible. We sucked.”

Nonetheless, on his podcast, Brady kept the loss in perspective.

“I think what I realized is any time you — look, losing sucks — but I also saw Deebo Samuel carted off the field (Sunday). I’ve been carted off the field,” he said of the 49ers star, who was diagnosed with ankle and MCL sprains. “Sometimes you think that even though losing sucks, at least I’ve got a chance to go out there again next week. It’s just a different perspective. We’re not gonna win every time we take the field. Sometimes when you play good teams on the road, and you don’t play great, and you get your ass kicked. You just lick your wounds and you go out the next week and hopefully it invigorates you to do more and do better.”

The Bucs are 6-7, but still lead the NFC South by one game over the 5-8 Panthers and Falcons.
