A self-proclaimed vegetarian has ruffled some feathers by claiming all vegetarians have a “cheat meal” with meat once in a while.
The Toronto-based TikToker, who posts under the username @Baligrilledcheese, started the beef in a viral video that has mushroomed to 2.7 million views since it was uploaded a week ago.
”If you ask me, I’ll lie and say, ‘No, I never eat meat, never, ever, ever. I love the animals,'” the daikon deceiver admits in the 27-second clip as she tips a slice of brie and prosciutto pizza toward the camera.
”This I have about once every few months, and I’m telling you, every other vegetarian out there has a cheat meal. And if they say they don’t, they’re lying to you.”
Several followers slammed the blond sometimes-tarian, who alleges she’s been a vegetarian for seven years. Many pointed out choosing not to eat meat is often an ethical decision, not necessarily a dietary one.
“You’re cheating on your morals and the animals. God wtf?” one user wrote, not mincing words.
“You’re not vegetarian then,” another confused person argued.
However, other so-called vegetarians revealed they partake in “cheat meals” as well.
“I don’t think EVERY vegetarian does this, but there is definitely a large population of the community that does [though],” one user leeked. “Mine’s bacon LOL.”
“Don’t let them lie to you, ur so right mine is a McChicken,” another confirmed.
Yet another shared a different term for the TikToker’s fluid dietary habits.
“I think of this more as Flexitarian tbh!” they quipped.
