Chargers cornerback J.C. Jackson was arrested and booked at the Bristol County Jail and House of Corrections in Massachusetts on Monday afternoon after a “nonviolent family issue,” a spokesperson at the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office told The Post.
Jackson, 27, was transported to the station by Fall River police after a probate court appearance. He is still there as of Tuesday morning.
“We are aware of media reports this afternoon pertaining to J.C. Jackson,” the Chargers said in a statement Monday. “We will continue to gather information on the matter and will refrain from further comment at this time.”
Jackson hasn’t played since Week 7, when the Chargers placed him on injured reserve after he suffered a season-ending knee injury against the Seahawks.
Jackson signed a five-year, $82.5 million contract with the Chargers in the offseason after four years with the Patriots. In five games this season, Jackson recorded two passes defended.
The Pro Bowl defensive back, who had eight interceptions last year and nine in 2020, won a Super Bowl with New England alongside Tom Brady in the 2018-19 season.
Jackson joined the Patriots in 2018 after going undrafted out of Maryland.
