One of the victims of the U-Haul rampage in Brooklyn has died from his injuries

One of the victims mowed down in Brooklyn Monday by a crazed man driving a U-Haul truck has died, the NYPD confirmed Monday night.

The victim, a 44-year-old man on an e-bike, succumbed from his injuries hours after the rampage that left at least eight others injured in Bay Ridge, police and law enforcement sources said. His identity was not revealed with family notification pending.

The e-bike rider had been struck by the truck on Bay Ridge Parkway and Fifth Avenue and was initially hospitalized in critical condition.

The alleged driver of the truck, identified by senior law enforcement sources as 62-year-old homeless man Weng Sor, was taken into custody after leading police on a wild chase where he recklessly drove through streets and sidewalks for about 30 minutes.

He dared cops to shoot him and later said he wanted to die once he was captured, sources said.

Sor remained at the 68th Precinct late Monday and has yet to be charged. The suspect has a history of mental illness, including in 2019 when cops responded to a mental health call because he was yelling and jumping into moving traffic on a Queens street, sources said.

He was taken to a local hospital for psychiatric evaluation back then, sources said.

Other victims caught in Monday’s destructive path were all listed in stable condition by authorities Monday night as the NYPD revealed the timeline of the mayhem.

The first victim, a 36-year-old pedestrian, was hit around 10:17 a.m. on Fourth Avenue before the driver struck two more men, a 34-year-old pedestrian and 30-year-old e-biker, two minutes apart around 10:30 a.m. and within a mile of each other near Bay Ridge Parkway, police said.

About five minutes later another male victim, 51, was hit near Bay Ridge Parkway and 12th Avenue, police said.

It was roughly another 10 minutes before the 44-year-old e-bike rider was fatally struck near Bay Ridge Parkway and Fifth Avenue, police said. The man sustained head injuries before he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Minutes later a 38-year-old e-bike rider was hit and then shortly after 11 a.m. the driver injured a 33-year-old police officer and 32-year-old man near 72nd Street and Third Avenue, the NYPD said.

Around the same time a 66-year-old man was hit in the same area before the fleeing U-Haul was finally stopped by officers near Columbia Street and Hamilton Avenue in Red Hook more than four miles away, authorities said.
