Stormy Daniels meets with prosecutors, agrees to be witness in Trump hush money investigation

Porn star Stormy Daniels met with Manhattan prosecutors for the first time Wednesday and agreed to be a witness in DA Alvin Bragg’s potential criminal case against former President Donald Trump.

“At the request of the Manhattan DA’s office Stormy Daniels and I met with prosecutors today,” Daniels’ attorney, Clark Brewster, wrote in a tweet

“Stormy responded to questions and has agreed to make herself available as a witness, or for further inquiry if needed.”

Daniels responded by thanking Brewster in a tweet of her own for “helping me in our continuing fight for truth and justice.”

The meeting took place as Trump’s onetime fixer, Michael Cohen, testified for a second day before a grand jury hearing evidence related to a scheme to pay Daniels hush money in the last days of the 2016 presidential campaign in order to keep her quiet about an affair she claimed to have had with Trump a decade earlier.

After his appearance, Cohen told reporters that “each and every one” of the grand jurors asked a question and that he was “certain” he provided the most comprehensive account of the agreement with Daniels.

Cohen has alleged that he made a $130,000 payment on Trump’s behalf to Daniels.

Trump’s former personal attorney pleaded guilty in 2018 to federal campaign finance law violations related to the payment and served a three-year prison sentence.

It is believed that the Manhattan DA’s office is looking into charging the 45th president with falsifying business records to hide his reimbursement of Cohen for the Daniels payment.

Bragg could then elevate the case to a felony by arguing that the alleged offense was related to a second crime — in this case, conspiracy to violate campaign finance law.

Trump, 76, declined an offer by Bragg to sit before the grand jury and defend himself, a sign that a decision about whether to seek an indictment will come soon.

Three sources told The Post Wednesday that if an indictment is sought, it could come down as soon as next week, making Trump the first current or former president in US history to face criminal charges.

The Manhattan district attorney’s office declined to comment.

Trump’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, blasted Cohen, Daniels and her lawyer on Wednesday, telling The Post that they’re “looking for their 15 minutes of fame.”

“When people appear before something as serious and confidential as a grand jury proceeding and run out of the courthouse to hold press conferences or tweet about it, it is a glimpse into their motives and credibility,” he said.

Tacopina added that he doesn’t know what Daniels discussed with prosecutors Wednesday, but he isn’t concerned.

“They don’t keep us in the loop but she is completely irrelevant to any campaign finance law issue,” he told The Post.

Trump, who is running for president once again in 2024, has vehemently denied that he had an affair with Daniels and he has called Bragg’s investigation a “witch-hunt” and “extortion.”
