She couldn’t help but wish SJP a happy birthday.
In a new Instagram post on Sunday, Cynthia Nixon wrote a heartfelt message to her “Sex and The City” costar and friend, Sarah Jessica Parker, on her 58th birthday.
“Make new friends, but keep the old,” Nixon wrote in the caption, accompanied by an old photo of them on the popular TV show together.
“One is silver, the other is gold. A circle is round, it has no end. That’s how long, I will be your friend.”
The message continued, “Happy birthday to my old friend @sarahjessicaparker. So glad to still be walking next to you after all this time.”
For six seasons, the ladies starred next to each other on “Sex and the City,” which ran from 1998-2004.
Parker played Carrie Bradshaw, while Nixon starred as Miranda Hobbes.
The two are back on-screen together for the rebooted version of the TV series on HBO Max, called “And Just Like That…” The first season aired in 2021, and they’re currently working on a second.
Over the years, the two have still remained friends with each other, even though there was drama among some of their other cast mates.
In 2017, the ladies were supposed to film a third “Sex and the City” movie, but it quickly came to a screeching halt after there was supposed drama between the cast and Kim Catrall, who played Samantha Jones in the series.
At the time, an article had come out, published by The Daily Mail, which alleged Catrall’s “demands” for the movie.
Catrall also did not sign on to “Just Like That…,” which Parker spoke about during an appearance on The Hollywood Reporter’s “Award Chatter” podcast.
“We did not ask her to be part of this because she made it clear that that wasn’t something she wanted to pursue, and it no longer felt comfortable for us, and so it didn’t occur to us,” Parker said about Catrall.
At the time, the actress also claimed that there was no fight going on between them.
In the reboot, the ladies claim that Samantha Jones had a falling out with Carrie, and subsequently “moved” to London.
