Adam Fravel, father of missing mom Madeline Kingsbury’s children, denies involvement in disappearance

The father of missing Minnesota mom Madeline Kingsbury’s children broke his silence Wednesday for the first time since she went missing last month — and insisted he had no involvement in her disappearance. 

“My family and I have been subject to a myriad of accusations regarding the disappearance of the mother of my children,” Adam Fravel said in a statement provided to local TV station KSTP. “During these last 12 days, I have cooperated with law enforcement at every turn, including sitting down for multiple interviews with Winona County law enforcement. 

“I did not have anything to do with Maddi’s disappearance,” he insisted. 

Kingsbury, 26, vanished on March 31 after dropping off her two kids, ages 5 and 2, at their day care in Winona, Minnesota, with their father.

Police have called her disappearance “involuntary and suspicious.”

Fravel told police he left their house at 10 a.m. but Kingsbury wasn’t there when he returned, but her phone, wallet and jacket were.

“I want the mother of my 5-year-old and 2-year-old to be found and brought home safely,” Fravel said in his statement. “I want that more than anything.”

The dad said the police told him on April 2 he should keep a low profile, which he now seems to regret. “My non-attendance and silence has been inferred by many as a sign of apathy, or worse. That could not be further from the truth,” he wrote.

Fravel’s statement came as Kingsbury’s sister Megan said Tuesday that the dad hasn’t been communicating with the Kingsbury family since Madeline disappeared.

“I think each of us family members have different ideas or thoughts about what may have happened, but nothing has been confirmed by law enforcement through any of their investigations,” Megan Kingsbury said.

“We will find Madeline. This is our mission and we will not falter,” the Kingsbury family said in a statement Monday.

Minnesota police said more than 2,000 people have volunteered to help find the missing mom. Authorities also said they have served “numerous search warrants” as part of the effort.
