Aaron Rodgers is scheduled to make his Jets debut in primetime against a division rival.
The NFL announced Thursday morning the Jets will open the season on “Monday Night Football” against the Bills at MetLife Stadium on Sept. 11.
It should be a raucous night with the defending AFC East champions coming to East Rutherford to face the Jets and their new quarterback.
The Jets split the series with the Bills last season, winning at home and losing in Buffalo.
The AFC East is expected to be wild this season with the Jets, Bills and Dolphins all projected to be playoff contenders.
Last month’s trade for Rodgers has made the Jets an attractive team for the NFL schedule makers.
They are expected to get the maximum of six primetime games this season. The full NFL schedule will be announced on Thursday night.
It was announced on Wednesday the Jets would face the Dolphins on Black Friday at MetLife Stadium. The Post’s Ryan Dunleavy also reported the Jets-Giants game will be Oct. 29.
That is a Giants home game.
