Maybe it was getting a little rusty.
Alec Baldwin, 65, has undergone hip replacement surgery after wrapping filming of his controversial Western, “Rust,” his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, announced Tuesday on Instagram.
“Alec got a new hip today … it was a long time necessary,” Baldwin wrote in the caption of the post, which shows the couple cuddling in a hospital bed.
“We have been through so much together … as your partner and as you heal, I want so very much for you to leave this very intense chronic pain chapter behind and improve your quality of life,” she continued.
The 39-year-old yogi also gave a shoutout to the doctors who operated on him.
The Post reached out to Baldwin’s reps for comment.
Baldwin’s hip replacement comes a month after the criminal charges of involuntary manslaughter against him were dropped following the fatal shooting of 42-year-old cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the New Mexico set of “Rust” in 2021.
While they were filming, a prop gun Baldwin was holding for a scene unexpectedly fired a real bullet into Hutchins’ chest.
Baldwin has maintained he is not guilty, even denying pulling the gun’s trigger.
Charges have also been filed against the set’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who was in charge of weapons for the film.
A preliminary hearing for the armorer is set for August in New Mexico’s First Judicial District Court.
In January, special prosecutor Andrea Reeb claimed Hutchins would be alive if proper steps had been taken.
“If any one of these three people — Alec Baldwin, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed or David Halls — had done their job, Halyna Hutchins would be alive today,” Reeb said. “It’s that simple.”
Baldwin was initially facing up to five years in prison, a potential sentence that was later reduced to 18 months — before charges against him were dropped.
In a statement to The Post last month, Baldwin attorneys Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro said, “We are pleased with the decision to dismiss the case against Alec Baldwin and we encourage a proper investigation into the facts and circumstances of this tragic accident.”
Meanwhile, filming moved to Montana in April before wrapping in mid-May.
In pictures obtained by The Post last month, Baldwin was seen on set dressed in bloody Western garb.
Upon the resumption of “Rust” filming, Baldwin thanked his followers in an Instagram post for their support.
“We filmed SUPERCELL in Billings,” he wrote in the caption. “Now outside of Bozeman to complete RUST. Montana is stunning.”
“I’m grateful for all of the support I have received here,” he added.
