A “Gossip Girl” star is looking to offload his idyllic upstate New York escape.
With some sorrow, “You” actor Penn Badgley, 36, is parting with his charming Catskills getaway, freshly listed to the tune of $1.7 million.
“There’s a modest luxury to the place, because you are in the woods and can live that life while having everything you need, and plenty more for hosting and holiday gathering,” Badgley told The Post of his rustic four-bedroom retreat in the hamlet of West Shokan, some 15 miles west of Kingston.
“The first time I sat on the porch and watched a balmy storm come in, I felt home,” added Badgley, who is married to singer Domino Kirke — “Girls” star Jemima’s sister. “Roaming the property with our kids and dogs was a joy. We followed it for years before purchasing, and we’re sad to let it go, so we just want to see it in the hands of someone who will love it.”
Located on more than 10 acres of private land, the house maintains a rustic facade while offering a luxurious layout and high-end amenities to boot.
The abode is no rural cabin at 3,402 square feet, but it does offer a timber-heavy aesthetic — with wide-plank wood floors, posts and hand-hewn beams throughout.
Spread over three stories, there are four bathrooms, a central stairway and a fieldstone fireplace-equipped living room surrounded on three sides by screened-in porches.
The kitchen offers a butcher block island, a prep and a farmhouse sink, soapstone countertops, an imported wood stove, and an under-counter beverage cooler and pantry.
In the primary suite, there’s a walk-in closet and an ensuite bath with a clawfoot tub and a separate glass shower.
Other amenities include not one but two laundry rooms, an attached two-car garage, four rooms of flexible space and “plans for an inground saline pool,” according to the listing.
“In 33 years of working in real estate, never before have I encountered a property with the high level of careful, beautiful balance of elegance and simplicity that the Badgleys have achieved here,” James Wesley Amburn, who shares the listing with fellow Four Seasons Sotheby’s International Realty agent Angelica Ferguson, told The Post. “The energy is beautiful, exciting, and healing all at the same time. And the location is quite remarkable in its serenity.”
