Texas mom of three shot after complaining about neighbor’s music

A Texas mom of three was shot in the chest after confronting a neighbor about loud music — with one of her distraught young kids calling 911 when she staggered back to their home, according to reports.

The 31-year-old mom, who was not identified, banged on an upstairs neighbor’s door in San Antonio just before 2 a.m. Wednesday to complain about the noise, cops told WOAI.

It sparked an argument that continued into the parking lot — where the mom was blasted in the chest by a shooter who fled, cops said.

Wounded, the mom managed to stagger home, where one of her kids called 911.

The kids — between ages 3 and 8 — were heard crying for their mom and asking why she’d been shot, WOAI said.

The mom was taken to a local hospital, where she was listed in stable condition, authorities told the local outlets.

Her kids have been temporarily placed with a relative, according to officials.

Investigators told KSAT 12 News that the suspected shooter was a visitor, not the neighbor himself.

However, both men fled and were still being sought, the reports said, without identifying either.

Cops searched the neighbor’s home on a warrant, but did not locate a gun, according to WOAI.

One neighbor, Stephanie Araujo, said there had been an ongoing feud between the two neighbors — telling the outlet that “living next to them both concerns me.”

“I have kids — imagine if this happened in the afternoon while kids are outside playing,” Araujo said.

Since April, police have had nearly 140 calls for service to the apartment complex, which is about 15 miles northwest of downtown San Antonio — including eight for loud music complaints, the outlet noted.
