Horrific video shows Fla. driver dragging dog from truck, leaving blood stains for half a mile

A sick Florida driver has been caught on camera dragging a dog from the back of his truck through the streets — leaving bloodied paw print stains for more than half-a-mile on the road.

The tragic ordeal unfolded when horrified witnesses saw the reddish-brown colored dog being dragged behind the man’s vehicle in Charlotte County, north of Fort Meyers, last Thursday.

When the driver eventually stopped after being chased down by neighbors, he allegedly jumped out of his truck and threw the dog’s body in the back of the pickup before driving off again.

The road was covered in blood stains in the aftermath, witnesses told WINK news.

“I was disgusted, appalled. The blood on the street was horrific,” Todd Tyler, who was driving nearby at the time, said.

“You can also see where the dog stood up and tried to run, you know, bloody paw prints and stuff where it was trying to keep up.”

He added: “That’s gonna be in my brain for the rest of my life, watching that.”

Witnesses said the dog appeared to already be dead when the driver picked it up from the road.

Authorities haven’t confirmed if the animal survived.

Meanwhile, the driver was located on Sunday after authorities circulated the shocking footage and images of the vehicle online in a bid to track him down.
