Rod Stewart’s wife barred him from seeing Trump because she thinks he’s ‘a disgrace’ with women
Sir Rod Stewart says his wife has banned him from hanging out with Donald Trump — because the ex-president is a “disgrace” with women.
The 78-year-old rock legend told Scottish Field magazine that his third wife, Penny Lancaster, 52, pulled the plug on get-togethers he’s had for decades with his notorious neighbor in Florida’s upscale Palm Beach.
“I used to go to [Trump’s] Christmas party and the balls he held but my wife said ‘no,'” the “Maggie May” singer said, as per the Telegraph.
“There was stuff he was coming out with, what he was saying about women he had known in the past, and Penny said, ‘You’re not going — he’s a disgrace.'”
The report did not say exactly when the rocker’s wife enforced her edict against seeing Trump, whom the rocker has previously called a “dear old friend” who’s been “extremely nice” to him.
However, in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election, a tape emerged of Trump bragging about being able to “do anything” to women because he’s “a star” — even “Grab ’em by the p—y.”
He has also been accused of sexually assaulting women, and last month was ordered to pay $5 million for sexually abusing and defaming one accuser, writer E. Jean Carroll.
Trump is also facing criminal charges — the first ever for a former president — over alleged hush-money payments to hide claims of a quickie with porn star Stormy Daniels while he was already married to third wife Melania Trump.
He has called Daniels — and a slew of other women — cruel nicknames, suggesting accusers were too ugly for him to have had sex with.
Stewart spoke favorably of his neighbor in 2018, when Trump was already in the White House and after the “Grab ’em by the p—y” tape had been widely circulated.
“I’ve known Trump for a long time. … He’s always been extremely nice to me,” Stewart said, according to the Telegraph.
“I’ve had no problems with him at all,” he said.
“Is he a great president? Nah. I think his moral compass is way off,” he said, predicting at the time that “it does seem like the walls are closing in on my dear friend.”
