How a $3.3M lotto-winning couple plan to spend their winnings
A Queensland couple has scored the only division one prize in The Lott’s Set For Life game.
The pair, from Gympie, were contacted on Wednesday morning with the life-changing news that they had won $3.3 million which would be paid out to them incrementally over 20 years.
With an extra approximately $13,500 coming in every month for the foreseeable future, the couple planned to share their good fortune, travel and do some much-needed house renovations.
“I’ve always said, if I was to win any lottery game, I’d want to win Set for Life. It’s great knowing that we have a regular income coming in for the next 20 years,” the man said.
“We can’t wait to help our children and grandchildren – it’s going to do such wonderful things.”
The unnamed winner described it as “life-changing news”.
“We’ve always wanted to go overseas to Bali and complete a jungle tour, as well as Italy!
“We also need to complete some renovations.”
The winning numbers in Tuesday’s Set for Life draw were 16, 41, 6, 21, 40, 20 and 30, while the supplementary numbers were 18 and 38.
There was just one division one winning entry.
The man couldn’t believe his luck when he answered the phone to a lotto official.
“Hang on, you’re kidding! I can’t believe this,” he said.
“This is extremely wonderful. We’re so shocked. My wife just went pale, and now she’s crying. We’ve often dreamt about winning Set for Life, but never have expected it to ever happen. It’s something we’ve manifested, and my wife has meditated about it.
“We were just talking about our financial plans before you called and it’s been a bit of a struggle as of late, so this news is particularly welcomed. The universe works in mysterious ways. We’re super grateful.”
The win marked the 117th Set for Life division one winner nationally since the game began and the 10th Set for Life division one winner so far this year.
