Restaurant worker vanishes after Chicago rock concert, family suspects foul play

Police in Chicago are searching for a man who mysteriously vanished after attending a concert by Australian rock band King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard

The family of Noah Enos said they suspect foul play after the 26-year-old restaurant worker vanished after Monday night’s concert at the Salt Shed, a popular venue in the old Morton Salt factory on North Elston Avenue, CBS 2 reported.

Enos’ girlfriend, Nicole Wijs, told the outlet that he stopped responding to her messages around 10 p.m. while inside the venue.

“Noah was last seen, to my understanding now, was at 9:30 p.m. walking around with his coworker at the venue on the camera footage,” she explained.

Police say that Enos suffers from “depression and anxiety,” but Wijs insists that his disappearance is out of character, NBC Chicago said.

Enos’ coworker, who invited him to the concert earlier that day, told the family that he went to the bathroom around 10 p.m. and then couldn’t find his friend, Enos’ mother Lee Anne Capin, told Fox News Digital.

“His story is that when he couldn’t find Noah, he took an Uber home,” she continued.

Chapin said that her son lives with his girlfriend and his brother just 15 minutes from the venue.

“He could have walked home. He never called [his girlfriend]. She was up all night,” she said.

Nicole Wijs, Enos’ girlfriend, has made a tearful plea for his return. CBS

Wijs drove to the Salt Shed around 4 a.m. on Tuesday after Enos did not come home, Chapin added.

“All this stuff makes me nervous because it’s just like foul play…things are not adding up,” she lamented.

Attempts to track Enos on his phone have turned up zero evidence, the family says.

“His phone still hasn’t been charged. We haven’t found his phone or anything. [Nicole] used the ‘Track my iPhone’ app and it’s still pinging his location here at the Salt Shed,” his brother, Zachary Enos, told FOX 32.

Speaking to the outlet on Wednesday, Wijs made a tearful plea for Enos to make contact.

“Noah, I love you. Please come home. I just want to know you’re safe,” she implored.

“He was leaving to meet his coworker for a couple drinks before heading to the concert. So he said goodbye to me, gave me a hug and kiss goodbye at 4 p.m. and that was the last time I saw him.”

Wijs told CBS 2 that she and Enos were childhood sweethearts – and that she is spiraling without him.

“I’m overwhelmed. I’m scared. I’m nervous. I’m distraught. I’m crumbling, and I just want him home,” she said.

Wijs said Noah had just started a new job at Frontier restaurant in Wicker Park.

The Salt Shed has also been in contact with the police during the search, NBC reported.

Noah Enos is 5’11” and about 140 pounds with brown eyes and black hair, according to CBS 2.

He was last seen wearing a green flatbill hat with an eye logo, a Polo windbreaker, medium wash blue jeans, and a black T-shirt with tan Vans sneakers.
