Dejounte Murray and the Atlanta Hawks are finalizing a four-year contract extension, according to multiple reports.
The deal would be worth $120 million and include a player option, The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported.
Murray, 26, was entering the final year of his contract, which was worth $18.2 million for the 2023-24 season.
Earlier in the week, things seemed to be trending in the right direction for the 2021-22 All-Star selection to work out an extension with Atlanta.
Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer reported Wednesday that there was continued “optimism among league personnel familiar with the situation that Atlanta will come to terms on a contract extension” with Murray.
Murray averaged 20.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 6.1 assists in 74 games last season.
He also shot 46.6 percent from the field while recording a 34.4 percent shooting percentage from beyond the arc.
The Hawks added Murray in the last summer in a trade that sent Danilo Gallinari and three first-round picks to San Antonio.
Alongside Trae Young, Murray helped lead the Hawks to a 41-41 record last season, which was good enough to get Atlanta into the play-in round before making the first round of the playoffs.
The Hawks were then knocked out by the Boston Celtics in six games.
Murray averaged 23 points per contest in five playoff games this year.
