A Lionel Messi match will bring stars from all over to watch, and his Inter Miami CF debut was no different.
Among the famous faces in attendance for the Argentine’s MLS debut against Cruz Azul on Friday night, where Messi scored the game-winner in a 2-1 win, were LeBron James, Kim Kardashian, Serena Williams and David and Victoria Beckham.
Kardashian came at the influence of her son, Saint, who was “so excited” to see his favorite player, the 36-year-old Messi.
“All summer we’re going to different exhibition games,” Kardashian said on the Apple TV+ pregame show. “I played soccer for five or six years. I was goalie — and center-forward — I wasn’t bad, you know!
“I loved it, so I’m happy that my boy loves it — and that we can come. They’re excited and that just makes me so excited.
“I’m happy to be here with Victoria, David [Beckham] and everyone. It’s going to be such a fun game,” Kardashian said.
The 19-time NBA All-Star and four-time NBA champ James was inside the stadium and was able to get in a hug and likely a few words of endearment with Messi prior to the match while sporting a white T-shirt and white bucket hat.
Tennis legend Williams also joined in on the fun, and the Beckhams posed for photos with many guests.
David Beckham is a co-owner of Inter Miami.
Messi, who did not start the game, entered as a substitute in the second half and scored in stoppage time on a free kick to win a thriller.
