Super Bowl champion Matt Birk looks unrecognizable after losing 75 pounds, 10-inches from waistline

Super Bowl champion and former center Matt Birk, 46, looks unrecognizable after he dropped 75 pounds and lost 10 inches from his waistline in an incredible body transformation.

The ex-Baltimore Ravens and Minnesota Vikings All-Pro lineman, who lasted 14 seasons in the league, weighed around 310 pounds in his playing days.

“All I knew was being big … Now I’m not so big and I’m loving it,” the six-time Pro Bowler told BaltimoreRavens.com after he retired in 2013.

“I think I’ve really developed a lifestyle that I can sustain now,” he continued.

That lifestyle Birk referred to was needed after revealing he suffered health issues from bad eating habits, along with his weight issues at the time.

Birk admitted his eating habits were so bad that he used to scarf down two burrito bowls for dinner every night, which he says played a role in his developing varicose veins.

Varicose veins are when weakened valves are twisted and enlarged, putting more pressure on the veins.

But now, Birk appears in the best shape of his life and he’s letting the world know all about it.

“It really has changed my life that I used to know,” he said. “I feel great physically, and I’ve got tons of energy.”

Birk played for the Vikings from 1998–2008 and finished his career playing for the Ravens from 2009–2012 — during which he would be a part of the Ravens’ Super Bowl XLVII team.

Along with making the Pro Bowl six times, his accolades also include earning two All-Pro selections and claiming the NFL’s Walter Payton Award in 2011 for his excellence on the field and community service.

The former Harvard student-athlete, who attended from 1994–1997, was named All-Ivy League and All-New England, and picked up Division I-AA All-Eastern College Athletic Conference first-team football honors during his time on campus, according to Harvard.

Birk shares eight children with his wife, Adrianna Birk, and is now an anti-abortion activist.

Following the Ravens’ Super Bowl XLVII victory over the San Francisco 49ers, Birk decided not to attend the White House with the team to meet then-president Barack Obama.

Birk said Obama’s comments in support of Planned Parenthood had contradicted his own Catholic faith, he explained to KFAN-FM.

Birk established and still manages, his very own HIKE Foundation in 2002, an educational nonprofit targeting at-risk Minnesota youth.

Another Super Bowl Champ made headlines for losing a ton of weight to better his health.

Former Carolina Panthers tackle Russell Okung shed over 100 pounds as he opted for a water fast and raw fruits diet.

The 2010 first-round draft pick and two-time Pro Bowler topped 310 pounds during his career playing for the Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Chargers, and Panthers.

Okung wowed social media when he revealed his significant weight loss journey on Instagram as well as Twitter.

“There are things that I can change and I am really [interested] in bringing my entire self to every experience that I encounter. I’m very happy ’cause I feel rooted. I feel grounded. I know why I’m here,” Okung said.
