30 thieves steal $300K in merch from California Yves Saint Laurent store in brazen smash and grab
A pack of at least 30 thieves robbed a California Yves Saint Laurent store in broad daylight — making off with an estimated $300,000 worth of merchandise in the brazen smash and grab.
Video of the theft obtained by KTLA shows the suspects in dark clothing racing in and out of the high-end fashion store at the Americana at Brand shopping center in Glendale shortly after 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
A man who appears to be a delivery driver scuffles with one of the suspects as he tries to flee the store — but the thief got away and jumped into a moving car that sped off, video shows.
One person can be heard telling the delivery man that it’s “not worth” getting hurt.
The Glendale Police Department confirmed to KTLA there were at least 30 people who made off with roughly $300,000 of loot in the heist.
Police Chief Manny Cid vowed in a statement that “this type of criminal activity will not be tolerated in Glendale.”
Cid said residents can expect to see an expanded police presence downtown.
“The Glendale Police Department will pursue all leads and utilize every available resource to apprehend those responsible and bring them to justice,” Cid said.
Caruso, the company that owns the upscale shopping center, is offering a $50,000 reward for information that leads to the arrests and convictions of the thieves.
