76ers end James Harden trade talks, but disgruntled star still wants out of Philly
James Harden might not end up leaving Philadelphia, that’s if the 76ers have the final say.
The 76ers will hold onto the star guard and plan to bring him into training camp, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Saturday.
Harden, who had opted into his contract earlier in the summer in hopes of working out a trade, reportedly prefers to go to the Clippers.
A source told The Athletic later in the night that the disgruntled Harden still has no plans on playing for the 76ers and will not take part in training camp.
According to Wojnarowski, the 76ers had talks with Los Angeles but nothing came of it.
Philadelphia, the ESPN insider reported, believes it has a shot at a title with Harden on the roster and wants to make things work with him.
Last season, he averaged 21 points, 10.7 assists and 6.1 rebounds for the 76ers.
