Mystery surrounds 3 men found dead in car in Indiana school parking lot
Three men were found dead in a car parked outside an Indianapolis elementary school Monday morning, with a fourth man being rushed to a hospital, police said.
The grim discovery was made inside a vehicle parked just steps from Jonathan Jennings School 109 around 8:15 a.m., with school buses rerouted to prevent pupils from seeing the scene, WTHR-TV reported.
There were no obvious signs of trauma on the victims, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department told the outlet.
Cops did not say how the trio of men died. Their identities have not been revealed, but all three were said to be adults.
Another man who was found in the car was taken to a hospital, but there was no immediate word on his condition.
The Indianapolis school district said the survivor was “intoxicated,” but did not specify on what.
“Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) is aware of an incident this morning outside of Jonathan Jennings School 109,” the statement read. “A car, with several deceased people and one intoxicated person inside, was parked on a lot at the school.”
The district said students at the school were safe.
“IPS will continue to keep the safety of all students at the forefront of their educational experience,” the district added.
