This could get ruff.
Britney Spears is reportedly refusing to allow her husband Sam Asghari to receive custody of their two dogs after he filed for divorce from the “Toxic” singer on Wednesday.
Asghari, a 29-year-old fitness instructor turned actor, gifted Spears, 41, a Doberman named Porsha in 2021, and the now-estranged couple also adopted an Australian Shepherd named Sawyer in February.
According to Asghari’s filing obtained by The Post, he is asking that Spears be required to pay spousal support and cover his legal fees and court costs, but also asked for “separate assets” and “various items” — which the “Gimme More” singer allegedly fears could include her furry friends.
A source allegedly close to pop icon told the Daily Mail on Friday, “Regarding [Britney and Sam’s shared] property, the most difficult part of dividing any assets will be their two dogs, but Sam gave Porsha to Britney as a present and she was the one who wanted to adopt Sawyer when they were in Maui.”
The Post has contacted reps for Spears and Asghari for comment.
A source also told the outlet that Spears isn’t interested in keeping the four-carat sparkler Asghari gave her as an engagement ring — as he was allegedly didn’t pay a dime for it.
“Sam can have that ring. It was free from the jeweler [Roman Malayev] and she doesn’t want it anymore. She has enough diamonds,” the insider said.
Luckily, Asghari won’t be walking away with a piece of Spears’ fortune thanks to an airtight prenup.
Asghari, who cited irreconcilable differences for the reason for the divorce, addressed the split Thursday on Instagram, claiming “s – – t happens.”
“After 6 years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together,” he started.
“We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always. [S–t] happens. Asking for privacy seems rediculous (sic) so I will just ask for everyone including media to be kind and thoughtful.”
A rep for Asghari told The Post on Thursday: “There are many claims that Sam is challenging the prenup and threatening to exploit his ex-wife with videos. However, all these claims are false, as no negative intention has ever been directed towards her and never will be.”
“Sam has always and will always support her,” the rep added.
A source close to Spears told The Post that the Princess of Pop is “doing well” following the split and is “excited about the book [her upcoming memoir ‘The Woman in Me’] and new music.”
The pair got engaged in September 2021, two months before her 13-year conservatorship came to an end that November.
