Stevan Ridley posts video of race that landed Kevin Hart in wheelchair

The signal that Kevin Hart might have injured himself emerged near the end of the second video.

At the start of the three-clip Instagram post from Stevan Ridley on Friday, the former NFL running back, clinched their first 40-yard spring comfortably.

But the next clip ended with the comedian tearing his hip abductor and lower abdomen — landing him in a wheelchair — after he appeared to grimace as Ridley pulled away near the finish line for another victory.

“Gotcha?? Got whooo?!” Ridley typed in the caption of his post, which also included a third clip capturing the moment when Hart appeared to get injured.

It’s unclear if the pair raced just twice, or if there was another sprint that wasn’t documented, but the backdrop for the races wasn’t anything thrilling.

Hart and Ridley — a 34-year-old who played eight NFL seasons for the Patriots, Jets, Falcons and Steelers — tore down the middle of a street, with a group of spectators watching and cars parked alongside the grass.

But Hart, donning a white t-shirt and red sweatpants, tore his lower abdomen and hip abductors in the second race, and he claimed in the caption of an Instagram post that he’s the “dumbest man alive.”

“I’m in a wheelchair,” Hart said in the video that accompanied the caption. “Why? Well, because I tried to jump out there and do some young stuff. This debate was based off who’s faster. Those that know me know, I’m pretty fast.

“Stevan said, ‘Kevin, ain’t no way you’re gonna beat me.’ Stevan is an ex-NFL running back [who] played for the New England Patriots. Very good guy.”

Hart then added a message to people above 40 years old, encouraging them to “respect that age, or that age will make you respect it.”

In a separate Instagram post, Ridley joked that he thought Hart, 44, could handle a 40-yard dash because Tom Brady did the same thing at that age.

Ridley then typed, “MY BAD,” tagging Hart, and told the comedian to “HEAL UP AND KEEP MAKING US ALL LAUGH.”

Ridley retired following the 2018 season to end a career that featured over 3,000 yards rushing and 27 touchdowns.
