Meghan Markle compared to Princess Diana at Invictus Games with Prince Harry

Meghan Markle was having a grand old time at the Invictus Games on Wednesday!

The Duchess of Sussex, 42, joined her husband Prince Harry, 38, in Düsseldorf, Germany, for the sports event where they took in a game of wheelchair basketball.

At one point during the tournament, the “Suits” star was sitting in the bleachers with Harry, 38, and she took part in a big group wave!

She joyfully sprang her arms up in the air alongside the rest of the crowd and laughed with the other fans.

Headlines about Markle’s moves at the event sparked some fun reactions from fans on social media, with one person writing a comparison of Markle to Harry’s late mother: “Can’t stop reading news about Meghan Markle taking part in a big group wave….the people’s princess fr!!!!”

Diana, Princess of Wales, was famously known as the “People’s Princess” because of her uncanny knack for connecting with non-royals, until she tragically died in a car crash in Paris in 1997.

Markle arrived in Europe from California on Tuesday and met up with her hubby at the games, which offer a recovery pathway for international wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women.

While the duchess’ $1,600 outfit at the contest today has turned heads, she has apparently chosen to come to the land of schnitzel without her beauty team.

According to the Telegraph, via News.com.au, “Aides revealed that Meghan has not traveled with a hair stylist or makeup artist, opting instead to do it herself.”

The Daily Mail also claimed Markle “did her own hair and makeup soon after arriving at her five-star hotel in Düsseldorf and got ready for the event in just over an hour.”

During the event, the couple was seen talking photos and signing autographs for fans and competitors in the wheelchair basketball contest.

The couple is staying in Germany until the conclusion of the games on Sept. 16.

Yesterday evening, Markle appeared onstage with the former military man at the “Friends @ Home Event,” and she gave a heartwarming speech about the Invictus Games, which were founded by Harry in 2014.

She apologized for coming to the party late, as the games actually started last week.

She joked to the audience she was tardy due to her kids Lilibet and Archie. “I just had to spend a little more time getting our little ones settled at home, putting milkshakes for their school drop-off,” Markle quipped.

“I’m really, really proud to be part of this Invictus family with all of you. I’m grateful for all of you that are here,” Markle said.

She went on: “I just landed a couple hours ago, and I am thrilled that the first event that I can do for Invictus is here with all of you. It is amazing and I hear the week so far has gotten off to a good start, is that right?”
