Meghan Markle breaks J.Crew website by wearing $158 sweater: ‘I really want that’

They’re loving the Crew — especially after her royalty rocked it.

Breaking the internet with her awe-striking outerwear, Meghan Markle has single-handedly sent J.Crew’s website to its knees, causing the retailer’s network to crash after famously donning its $158 “Giselle” V-neck sweater blazer in ivory to the Invictus Games in Düsseldorf, Germany, on Wednesday.

“Y’all done crashed the J Crew site tryna get Meghan’s outfit — her impact continues,” tweeted a tickled fan of the 42-year-old Duchess of Sussex.

“I’ve been trying to get on the site for an hour and a half. It’s 6:30 a.m. where I am. I really want that sweater,” groaned another on X.

“Seems like the Meghan effect has struck again … even JCrew couldn’t cope,” a separate supporter wrote.

The fashion outlet quickly responded to the digital digs this morning, tweeting: “Our team is working to have it up and running soon, so please check back with us.”

The website is now back in business.

Markle, who accompanied husband Prince Harry, 38, to the Paralympic sporting event, paired the coveted creme top — which is now completely sold out on J.Crew’s rebooted site (the sweater, however, is available in a variety of colors at a reduced price of $109.50) — with a pair of $175 Staud white linen shorts, a black tank and a $1,350 pair of two-tone Chanel ballet flats.

The royals were warmly welcomed by the crowd of cheering spectators at the Merkur Spiel-Arena when they arrived for a wheelchair basketball faceoff between Australia and Ukraine.

But Markle’s comfortable, casual and cost-effective look stole the show.

And it’s not the first time the “Suits” actress turned aristocrat suited up in inexpensive yet mania-inspiring couture. Over the years, she’s stunned in bargain numbers, including J.Crew’s $34 perfect-fit shelf-bra tank top that she wore for the headshot of her Spotify podcast, “Archetypes.”

And in August, the budget-conscious belle remarkably wowed in a black-and-white Posse tube dress for a pre-birthday dinner at Tre Lune in Montecito, California. The famed frock came with a price tag of $240, which, for an A-lister, is a steal.

Markle’s viral fashion moments may become more and more frequent as the royal is rumored to be gearing up to relaunch her Instagram — where she may be able to earn as much as $1 million per post.

“Do you want to know a secret?” she told the Cut in late 2022. “I’m getting back … on Instagram.”
