Pat McAfee drops F-bomb shortly after ESPN debut: ‘Can’t say that’

Oops.

Pat McAfee dropped an F-bomb during Tuesday’s installment of his titular show on ESPN, days after the series made its official debut on the cable network.

The slippage occurred when McAfee was discussing pal Aaron Rodgers’ devastating Achilles injury that the quarterback sustained in the Jets’ season opener on Monday night — just four plays into his playing career in New York.

“I was holding out optimism until [Jets head coach Robert] Saleh comes up to the thing and goes, yep, popped his Achilles, we’re f–ked,” said McAfee, who immediately covered his mouth afterward. “Can’t say that here on ESPN.”

It’s also been reported ESPN is airing “The Pat McAfee Show” on delay to evade the possibility of profane language.

Awful Announcing reported that Tuesday’s slip “was the first time the audience watching on ESPN heard McAfee” utter the word.

Warning: Explicit language

McAfee then noted “that is basically what Saleh said” in the aftermath of the Jets star quarterback being done for the year.

“The Pat McAfee Show” premiered on ESPN last Thursday and featured an appearance from Rodgers, a longtime guest of the show before it made the leap to the Worldwide Leader.

The Post’s Andrew Marchand first reported in May that McAfee would be moving his show from FanDuel to ESPN.

At the time, the former NFL punter was in the second year of a four-year, $120 million deal with FanDuel.

McAfee’s deal with ESPN is for five years and in the ballpark of around $85 million.

McAfee vowed to viewers earlier this year that the move to ESPN would not change “a damn thing” about the show.

That said, McAfee noted the team “won’t be saying ‘f–k’ nearly as much.”

“Our show will also be on in every airport, cafe, restaurant, house, etc, with the incomparable power of ESPN. Out of respect for that, we have decided we won’t be saying ‘f–k’ nearly as much, but every other word is good to go… everything else will be good,” McAfee said in May.

Ahead of last week’s premiere, the show featured a cheeky disclaimer that read: “The following progum is a collection of stooges talking about happenings in the sports world. It is meant to be comedic informative. The opinions expressed on this show do not necessarily reflect the beliefs of their peers, their boss, or ESPN. There may be some ‘cuss’ words because that’s how humans in the real world talk. If you are young, please seek permission before watching any further.”
