Jason Kelce knew the mere mention of his brother and a certain pop superstar would have far-reaching consequences.
During an appearance on Audacy’s SportsRadio 94 WIP in Philadelphia, the Eagles center was asked about the “stir” he ignited last week over comments made about Travis Kelce’s rumored romance with Taylor Swift — who caught the Chiefs tight end in action Sunday.
“My reaction was exactly, this is exactly what I think is gonna happen. She’s gonna go to the game, and the whole world’s gonna lose their God damn mind. That’s exactly what I thought was gonna happen… 7:30 in the morning, I’m happy that WIP got the pub for it, but I was just trying to be sarcastic,” Kelce said on the show Wednesday.
“It ended up she went to the game this week. So it was fun watching the whole world take it in.”
The Super Bowl champion, 35, took the internet by storm last Wednesday after saying the dating rumors between his brother and Swift are “100% true.”
Kelce then noted he was joking.
As for his continuous insider information about the budding romance, it seems Kelce is keeping the attention on family rather than Swift’s NFL experience.
“But yeah, I’m more focused on talking to Trav and mom after the game and seeing how everything went…,” Kelce said. “And it certainly, I mean, seemed like she was enjoying it from all accounts and everybody I talked to, so you’re kind of just hoping that, you know, she had a good time, and you’re asking questions about her to your mom and whatnot.”
Swift was featured heavily on Fox’s broadcast of the Chiefs’ 41-10 win over the Bears on Sunday when she caught the game from a suite at Arrowhead Stadium with Kelce matriarch Donna.
Kelce did mention Wednesday how his younger brother appears to be putting his best foot forward when it comes to matters of the heart.
“I would say with this one, it definitely seems like he is going above and beyond to be a gentleman,” Kelce said.
And now that Kelce recognizes the power of his words, there’s a certain relief that comes with finally putting the rumors about his brother’s love life to bed.
“I’m happy that it finally happened out in the public side, so I can hopefully stop being asked questions about it,” he said Wednesday.

Kelce’s comments come as Travis, 33, has quickly become the Swifties’ newest heartthrob.
The rumored couple, who was first linked earlier this month, were seen spending time together after the game.
Travis also opened up about Swift, 33, on Wednesday’s installment of his “New Heights” podcast, which he co-hosts with Kelce.
“What’s real is that you know, it is my personal life, I want to respect both of our lives,” Travis said. “She’s not in the media as much as I am doing this show every single week and having fun during the NFL season on other guys’ shows, like the McAfee show and any other show I go on from here on out, like you said on that Thursday night game, I’m enjoying life and I sure as hell enjoyed this weekend.”
