Paul Bissonnette has no love for the Rangers: ‘They’re all frauds’

First, Paul Bissonnette took aim at Islanders general manager Lou Lamoriello, and now, he’s taking shots at the rival Rangers.

During Tuesday’s episode of the “Spittin’ Chiclets” podcast, the former NHLer turned hockey analyst cast doubt on the Rangers’ upcoming season and called the players on the roster “frauds.”

At one point, the podcast host and the TNT studio personality even went as far as to call out the Rangers’ fanbase.

“I’m gonna go the other way, you have them making playoffs, I don’t,” Bissonnette said to fellow co-host and former player Ryan Whitney.

“I think [goaltender Igor] Shesterkin is tired of saving their F–king bacon. I think they’re all frauds. I don’t like their depth at all. Their fanbase are frauds, their team are frauds. They’re done. The [Metropolitan Division] is too strong. F–k the fugazis. No playoffs for you, and then [Rangers owner James] Dolan’s going to have a meltdown.

“Exactly how I want the season to end.”

Paul Bissonnette was not kind to the Rangers.

The Rangers do have a tough task ahead of them this year as they try to move forward from a disappointing exit in seven games against the Devils in the first round of the playoffs last season.

They made a few additions, including making a change behind the bench.

The team mutually parted ways with Gerard Gallant and brought in veteran coach Peter Laviolette

They also added forwards Blake Wheeler and Nick Bonino and veteran netminder Jonathan Quick as a backup to Shesterkin.

Whether the Rangers have enough juice to make a run in the postseason remains a question, which Bissonnette did not hide his feelings on.

Inside the dressing room, the players expressed optimism about the upcoming season, with captain Jacob Trouba saying at the start of training camp that he felt the Rangers have the team to do something good this year.

“So this is our time. We have a lot to prove. I think, to a man, we have the team in here to do it, and I think we all believe that,” he said, according to The Post’s Larry Brooks.

Bissonnette isn’t exactly shy about sharing his unfiltered opinions on the happenings in the NHL.

In July, Bissonnette and Whitney took shots at the Rangers archrival, the Islanders, and Lamoriello.

At one point, Bissonnette even said, “Lou has just given up.”

Bissonnette also helped bring to light questionable actions by now-former Blue Jackets coach Mike Babcock

It was Bissonnette who reported on the Barstool Sports podcast that Babcock asked Blue Jackets captain Boone Jenner to show him his cell phone’s camera roll, then displayed the photos on his office wall via AirPlay.

Amid an NHLPA investigation, Babcock resigned.
