Daniel Radcliffe ‘flattered’ by Wolverine rumors: ‘I got buff because I am obsessive’

Hugh Jackman can rest easy. Daniel Radcliffe has finally reacted to fan rumors that he might be the next Wolverine, noting that there is simply no truth to the theory.

“No,” Radcliffe, 34, confirmed during a Vanity Fair lie detector interview with his “Merrily We Roll Along” costars Jonathan Groff and Lindsay Mendez.

When asked by Mendez if he got buff for no reason, he laughed.

“Yes. I got buff because I am obsessive, and I want to… You’ve seen my parents, they’re like insane fitness people,” he said. “So that’s just been passed on. But no. No Wolverine. Flattered, but no.”

Jackman, 55, meanwhile, will reprise his Wolverine character in the upcoming third installment of “Deadpool,” starring opposite good friend Ryan Reynolds and helmed by director Shawn Levy.

Earlier this year, Radcliffe showed off his insane physique in the Season 4 finale of “Miracle Workers,” which got the attention of plenty of viewers.

The “Harry Potter” star went on to list several other rumors that he’s heard about himself over the years.

“There’s a lot of shipping of Harry and Draco [Malfoy] as characters together. So I’ve read some of that,” the new dad said of his “Harry Potter” character and his costar, Tom Felton.

When the “Hamilton” actor, 38, asked what “shipping” means, Radcliffe noted it’s when followers of a certain fandom want to see either real-life people or fictional characters together. Radcliffe joked that he knows all too well about the term due to being a part of the “Harry Potter” franchise.

As for the other weird stories about himself?

“That I had the [UK Special Air Service] walk my dogs. That I had special beer brewed for myself by monks in a monastery in Belgium,” he continued. “That I used to get my assistant to hold my scripts in the mirror so I could read it while I was having makeup done — even though that doesn’t make f—ing sense because I wouldn’t be able to read mirror writing. There’s a long list.”

Radcliffe, Groff and Mendez, 40, kicked off their revival of Stephen Sondheim’s 1981 show earlier this month with director Maria Friedman at the Hudson Theatre.

“This comparatively human revival, gently directed by Friedman, dials down the lunacy and the showbiz cliches and makes it much easier for average Joes to see themselves in these relatable characters,” The Post’s Jonny Oleksinski said of the new stage show. “The wit and incisiveness of Furth’s dialogue suddenly sparkle, and tears and chills arrive well before the reliably emotional finale ‘Our Time.'”
