Nobody had Bernie Kosar and Taylor Swift going viral together on their bingo card.
But there was the former Browns quarterback, hanging with the songstress who was in Kansas City to support her boyfriend Travis Kelce as the Chiefs faced the Chargers on Sunday.
In an appearance Monday on “The Ken Karman Show with Anthony Lima” on 92.3 the Fan in Cleveland, Kosar explained that he was with the Kelce family in Kansas City supporting their “Operation Breakthrough” charity.
He was asked which side initiated the photo op.
“I think my concussion issues would really be elevated if I said she was begging for a picture with the old man,” Kosar laughed.
Kosar was also asked if she was the most famous person he’s ever come into contact with, and he deflected the question, talking about how excited he was to see the Browns come back and win in Indianapolis — including a play where defensive lineman Myles Garrett leapfrogged the Colts’ line to block a field goal.
“To be in Kansas City and with Taylor Swift [but] be fixated on Myles Garrett and his athleticism probably debates some of my coolness right there — I’m making people move so I can see the Browns game, instead of focusing on talking to Taylor Swift,” Kosar said. “Maybe I do have deeper concussion issues than I allude to.”
Asked if Swift cared at all about what was going on in Browns-Colts, Kosar again deflected, saying, “Flat-out, it’s just amazing what a genuine, nice person she is. With the unbelievable talent the star she’s become, to see she’s an even better person was just really cool. Yesterday was a special time.”
The Kelce-Swift relationship has taken the NFL world by storm, as she has attended four of the last five Chiefs games.
Kelce said earlier this month that the league’s broadcast partners were “overdoing it” in terms of how much they were showing Swift during the games.
Swift watched Sunday’s game in Kansas City alongside a group that included Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, and his brother, Jackson.
Swift and Brittany Mahomes unveiled a special secret handshake as the Chiefs beat the Chargers, 31-17.
Kelce went off for 12 receptions and 179 yards, including a one-yard touchdown in the second quarter.
Swift and Kelce left Arrowhead Stadium hand in hand, but not before documenting the first kissing photo of the power couple.
After that, they retired to Kelce’s home for a catered post-game celebration.
