Davante Adams all smiles during locker room dance after win over Jets

Davante Adams is much happier these days.

The Las Vegas Raiders’ star wide receiver was captured dancing in the locker celebration following the team’s last-minute win over the New York Jets on “Sunday Night Football.”

His surrounding teammates joined in on the fun as well, enjoying themselves after back-to-back wins.

Cigars were also lit in the locker room to aid in their celebration of the 16-12 win.

For Adams, this celebration is starkly different from his visible frustration with the team’s performance in their Week 8 road loss to the Detroit Lions when he threw his helmet after being overthrown while wide open.

Adams’ change of tune also comes after a major change of leadership in the franchise, following the firing of head coach Josh McDaniels and promotion of former Giants linebacker Antonio Pierce to interim head coach.

In Sunday’s win that improved the Raiders to 5-5, Adams had six catches for 86 yards.

While there were games under McDaniels where it seemed the Raiders forgot he was on their team, Pierce wants to make sure Adams is an integral part of the offense.

“The first couple plays were right to him,” Pierce said about giving the ball to Adams, according to NBC Sports. “Get the ball in his hands, get him going. When you’ve got one of the best receivers in the game, I’m not stupid. I know who to get the ball to.”

The question about targeting Adams against the Jets may have come as a jab toward McDaniels, as Adams had publicly expressed his frustration about his former coach’s offense.

“So when I go out there, I expect to have that ability to put that on the table and have an influence on the game,” Adams said, via USA TODAY. “That’s my purpose for being here.

“I came here to win and to do it the right way, so if it doesn’t look like it’s supposed to look, then I’m going to be frustrated if I’m not part of that plan.”
