‘Nervous’ Macaulay Culkin plays ‘Celebrity Jeopardy!’ – reacts to being clue 42 times
Macaulay Culkin was a contestant on “Celebrity Jeopardy!” Wednesday after being a clue on the game show countless times through the years.
“You have been part of a ‘Jeopardy!’ clue, like, 42 times over your career,” host Ken Jennings told the “Home Alone” actor. “That’s a very impressive number.”
Culkin, 43, took the news in stride, saying: “Oh, wow! Look mom, I’m famous! I’m a factoid! Trivial.”
According to Jennings, 49, he had no idea if Culkin would be on the “[Jeopardy!] board today.”
“That would make it so much easier. For real,” Culkin teased. “I would be so much less nervous.”
Culkin went on to note that he was playing to win money for the San Diego Zoo and Wildlife Alliance.
“I’m sure a lot of people are familiar with it, but it’s a place that’s near and dear to my and my family’s heart,” Culkin told Jennings. “They work on conservation and the relationship between wildlife and people trying to make it better.”
Culkin faced off against “Saturday Night Live” alum Rachel Dratch and WWE star Becky Lynch during the episode — and revealed he’s been a fan of the game show since he was a kid.
“It was like religion in my family,” the reclusive actor said. “Every night at 7 p.m. eastern it was ‘Jeopardy!’, ‘Jeopardy!’, ‘Jeopardy!’. Even when we were little kids. So hi mom, again!”
The “Party Monster” star also revealed that his fiancee, former Disney Channel star Brenda Song, made him practice all the time “whether I was in the mood or not.”
“Oh yeah, my lady had a whole bunch of flashcards,” Culkin quipped. “She just kept asking me questions. Like a normal day. She had all kinds of questions.”
“She threatened to bring them on the ride over here,” the actor laughed. “And I was like, ‘Enough is enough! I’m already all nervous.’ “
During normal gameplay, Culkin managed to earn $16,800 right behind Dratch, 57, who led the trio with $23,000 going into the final round.
“Exhumed in 2017 to settle a paternity suit, his mustache had ‘preserved its classic 10-past-10 position,’ according to the Spanish press,” the final clue read.
Sadly, Cuklin lost by a mere dollar after betting everything on Salvador Dali, which was correctly guessed by everyone and put Dratch in first place with $33,601. He did, however, give a shout-out to Song in the audience by writing “Hi Brenda” next to his answer.
Even though Culkin didn’t move on to the next round of gameplay, he did manage to win the hearts of several fans.
“Watching ‘Celebrity Jeopardy’ and drooling over how healthy and gorgeous Macaulay Culkin is… what?! I hope he wins,” one fan thirsted on X.
“I’m always taken aback when I see that Macaulay Culkin isn’t little Kevin McCallister anymore. I’m feeling old watching,” a second fan lamented.
“I’m sitting here watching ‘Celebrity Jeopardy’, because I’m 75 years old, and Macaulay Culkin is on,” a third person noted. “And b–ch he look GOOD! Is he canceled? or can I stare a little bit?”
