New details emerge about ‘General Hospital’ star Billy Miller’s suicide
New details have emerged about the death of Billy Miller, the star of “General Hospital” who died in September by suicide.
According to the Travis County Medical Examiner’s coroner’s report, the actor, who was 43, was found dead in the bathtub of his Austin,Texas, home by paramedics, Radar reported.
The “Young and the Restless” actor, who suffered from bipolar disorder, died on Sept. 15, 2023 — two days before his 44th birthday.
“According to reports, this 43-year-old man with a history of bipolar disorder and depression was found deceased in the bathtub of his residence with an apparent gunshot wound to the head,” the document read.
“Multiple letters indicating suicidal intent and instructions for others were found at the scene. A revolver chambered for .410 shotgun shells was found in the [decedent’s] right hand.”
The report also said that numerous drugs were involved.
“Postmortem toxicology demonstrated the presence of ethanol, cocaine, and its metabolites, diphenhydramine, and amphetamine,” it said.
Days after Miller’s death, the actor’s mother told Soap Opera Digest that her son had dealt with mental health issues.
“He fought a long, hard, valiant battle with bipolar depression for years,” Patricia Miller said. “He did everything he could to control the disease.”
Miller, who was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, starred on “General Hospital” as Jason Morgan and Drew Cain from 2014 to 2019.
After his 592-episode run on the ABC daytime soap opera, Miller appeared on “Suits,” “Truth Be Told” and “NCIS.”
He also appeared as Richie Novak on ABC’s soap “All My Children.”
