Delta’s new aircraft boasts secret feature that flyers are calling a ‘game changer’
Now hear this.
A cookie dough brand co-founder has a hot tip for fellow travelers: You can connect your Apple AirPods to Delta’s seat-back TV screen using Bluetooth technology when flying on the airline’s new Airbus A321neo.
Delta’s A321neo — which began accepting commercial flyers in May 2022 — boasts slick leather recliners, wide privacy dividers between seats, and 13-inch high-definition touchscreen monitors in first class.
TikToker Elise Brulotte was mesmerized by the in-flight entertainment on a Wednesday trip from Seattle to Honolulu.
“FINALLY delta’s new plane allows you to watch movies with your AirPods,” Brulotte, who co-founded Hot Take cookie dough with her sister, wrote in text over her TikTok.
The 29-second clip shows Brulotte connecting her AirPods Pro via the Bluetooth headset feature on her monitor to watch “Crazy Rich Asians.”
“ABOUT TIME as someone who never bought over the ear headphones im freaking out. game changer,” she emphasized in the caption of her video, which has taken off with more than 520,000 TikTok views.
A Delta rep said in a statement that “the A321neo fleet is our first fleet type offering Bluetooth connectivity, and it’s available in first-class cabins.”
Brulotte told The Post she was happy to see Delta “implement something I have been wanting for a while.”
“I hope more airlines integrate the feature it seems like a no brainer to me,” Brulotte said. “I haven’t seen it on plane before so it was news to me! I will search for it more now.”
As of November, Delta has 35 A321neos in service, with 155 purchase commitments for the aircraft through 2027.
The 194-seat airplane features 20 domestic first-class seats, 42 Comfort+ seats, and 132 main cabin seats.
The in-flight entertainment system is said to be loaded with more than 500 movies and 100 TV series.
For its part, Apple launched AirPods — its wireless Bluetooth earbuds — in 2016.
Brulotte’s 300,000 TikToker followers shared their own experiences with AirPod technology on other flights.
“I had this on a United flight. Changed the game,” one flyer noted.
“The new Virgin Airlines had this and I was so happy lol,” a second laughed.
“I just did this on Emirates!” a third exclaimed.
