The Mets’ search for organizational depth has yielded plenty of new names — most of them little known — this offseason.
On Thursday, the team announced two further additions on minor league contracts: right-handed reliever Cam Robinson and outfielder Trayce Thompson, both of whom received an invite to big-league spring training.
Robinson, 24, has a history with president of baseball operations David Stearns, who selected him with the Brewers in the 23rd round of the 2017 draft.
Robinson appeared in 49 games last season, mostly at Double-A and pitched to a 5.33 ERA overall.
Thompson, a 32-year-old journeyman outfielder, played 72 games last season for the Dodgers and White Sox and posted a .579 OPS.
He has also played for the A’s, Cubs and Padres during his seven-year major league career.
