Wisconsin Taco John’s bans unsupervised kids after thefts, rocks thrown at worker
Lettuce talk about a beefy situation.
A Wisconsin restaurant has banned unsupervised children after middle school students allegedly stole from the location and threw rocks at employees.
The Taco John’s in Waukesha taped a sign to its doors stating that “due to multiple recent events” anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult to eat inside.
The youngsters have reportedly been “stealing soda, stealing condiments, leaving huge messes, being disrespectful to our employees, and messing around unsafely in our lobby,” the sign said, according to Fox Business.
Some young hooligans even threw rocks at a staffer, a manager told Fox 6.
Taco John’s is located across from a middle school, but management has not called police over the incidents, the outlet reported.
“As this is unfortunate for the minors who were respectfully and well-mannered, this is not a decision we made and did not make lightly,” management wrote.
Several restaurants across the country have taken similar measures to combat unruly minors wreaking havoc in their eateries.
Nettie’s House of Spaghetti in Tinton Falls, NJ, announced in early March it would no longer be serving children.
“We love kids. We really, truly, do. But lately, it’s been extremely challenging to accommodate children at Nettie’s,” the restaurant’s management wrote in a Facebook Post. “Between noise levels, lack of space for high chairs, cleaning up crazy messes, and the liability of kids running around the restaurant, we have decided that it’s time to take control of the situation.
“We know that this is going to make some of you very upset, especially those of you with very well-behaved kids, but we believe this is the right decision for our business moving forward,” the restaurant said at the time.
Around the same time, a Chick-fil-A in Royersford, Pa., banned anyone under 16 from dining in their restaurant without an adult after a series of “unacceptable behaviors,” including minors being loud, cursing and being rude to staff.
They also swiped decorations while tossing food and trash around and leaving it on tables.
“As you can imagine, this is not a pleasant experience. We want to provide a comfortable and safe environment for our guests and our staff, and also to protect our building. Therefore, we cannot allow this to continue,” Chick-fil-A said.
