Food influencer reveals ‘correct’ way to eat a sandwich — but detractors say ‘nope’

So, you’re eating a sandwich and come to a crossroads: Do you take a bite out of the dry, lifeless crust, or the juicy middle section brimming with the delicious contents of said sammie?

Thankfully, a TikToker has an “obvious” answer for you.

A Los Angeles food influencer, who goes only by Soogia, revealed there’s “only one answer” — and it’s to leave the best, or center, for last.

“We all have the same goal in sandwich eating, right? Don’t we?” she insisted in a video posted this week that has since racked up 1.6 million views — and ignited a raucous debate.

“We want this whole area here,” she continued, gesturing to the meaty, middle bite in the center of the sammie. “This is the crown jewel of the sandwich — we’ve been waiting for this bite right here.”

The viral video included an image of a half-eaten sandwich posing the question, “Where’s your next bite?”

According to the content creator, there are just three potential areas of consumption: Point “A,” located on the far left, is part-crust part-innards; point “B” in the center contains the meatiest part of the ‘wich; and point “C,” on the bottom right, has the least amount of contents and the most amount of crust.

Please tell me there are no “B”s here. We have to plan, people!!! #sammich #sandwichstrategy #noonesayB #greenscreen

“Please tell me there’s no one out there who said that ‘B’ is the next bite,” the seemingly exasperated gourmand pleaded. “It can’t be. If this is your next bite, you have nowhere to go except dry crust.”

Signaling to option “C” — which she described as a corner piece with “dry crust” that has “very little feeling” — she declared that would be the “next bite.”

But she wouldn’t dare move on to “A” or “B” afterward, either. No, she would continue to chomp on the lifeless edges, leaving only the juiciest center segments to enjoy last.

Soogia, who is also the founder of Soogia Foods, couldn’t believe there was an “actual debate on this.”

Soogia argued that eating the less desirable crust is ideal, which saves the best part of the sammie for last.

Soogia’s viral clip ignited a debate in the comments over the perfect way to eat a sandwich.

While fellow crust-eaters united in the comments to champion the creator’s strategic sandwich consumption, some aghast viewers vouched for other methods.

“Agreed. I eat in circles and save the middle for last,” one TikToker wrote, which Soogia called “sane.”

“The answer is C but hear me out: small bite of B topped off with C so it’s not so dry,” reasoned one user.

“Edge-eaters unite! That last bite needs to be the best, which is the middle,” applauded another.

“Nope, going straight to B, son!!” comedian and actress Leslie Jones argued.

“I’m with Leslie. And I’ll toss the C piece. F–k that,” added another.

“B, dry crust goes to the dog,” someone else offered.

“ITS B! THEN A. THEN B THEN A. UNTIL YOU ARE LEFT WITH C. and then you throw that part away,” one enthusiastic foodie wrote.

“People choosing B are the ones who still cut the crust of their sandwiches,” quipped one user.
